Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) Banking and Finance
Overview
Banking and finance is the study of managing money, financial instruments and financial institutions in an economy. It studies how banks handle money circulation, investments and loan financing, acquiring and disposing of financial assets, and managing day-to-day operations.
The banking and finance curriculum at UTAR is aimed to educate students with an understanding of finance, accounting and management, with an emphasis on modern banking and financial management. Students acquire hands on experience with the cutting-edge learning facilities such as Refinitiv Financial Terminal, which is used for business intelligence, and data and information acquisition.
Aside from professional recognition, UTAR is one of the few universities in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) University Programme that incorporates the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) into the banking and finance programme. Hence, students will be prepared to take the CFA examinations.
