Overview
 
Bachelor of Economics (Honours) Financial Economics aims to prepare students with a strong theoretical understanding and empirical ability to analyse economic and finance issues. This programme combines microeconomics, macroeconomics, quantitative, research as well as finance-related courses.

Throughout the studies in our programme, students will not only have opportunities to learn and apply fundamental financial economics knowledge but also be well prepared with research skills, interpersonal skills, digital skills as well as numeracy skills. Thus, the curriculum is designed in such a way to motivate the active participation of students in teaching-learning interaction and academic writing. The design of the curriculum is also up-to-date with course content such as blockchain, fintech, data analytics, big data, etc.

UTAR is one of the few universities in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) University Programme that included a significant portion of the CFA Programme Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) into its curricula. Hence, UTAR Bachelor of Economics (Honours) Financial Economics will be provided with a solid foundation to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Programme.
