Accounting is the systematic recording, categorising, analysing, reporting and preparation of financial statements by following a set of rules and regulations that governs financial reporting.
Accountants play a central role in auditing, budgeting, tax planning, investing, financing, raising of capital and etc. Accountants analyse the performance and financial health of a business. They provide businesses with meaningful information to make sound decisions and allow businesses to strategies and achieve its business objectives.
The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Accounting has been developed with the aim to train and educate competent, dedicated and professional accountants who are highly sought after by various industries.
Under a collaboration with the Alibaba Group, the Alibaba Global Digital Talent (GDT) Programme is offered to students to provide opportunities to acquire knowledge and skillsets in the field of e-commerce. The programme is made up of Part 1 Digital Transformation (indicated as Applied E-Commerce) and Part 2 Digital Entrepreneurship (also indicated as Digital Technopreneurship). Completion of the Part 1 Digital Transformation is a prerequisite for Part 2 Digital Entrepreneurship. Certifications will be offered to candidates who successfully complete Part 1 and Part 2.
In this era of digitalization, the content of the curriculum is relevant to the industry requirement particularly on digital awareness program for the students by incorporating digitation courses for example Introduction Financial Prediction with Machine Learning in Python, Financial Technology and Fundamentals of Digital Media Technology. These courses are aimed to prepare the graduates to be a team player in the industry.
